4th of July

If you were there - you are still laughing. If you missed it - words won't do it justice. Photos will be posted in a few days. Of course we are speaking of the now famous Jeff-O & Jim-Bo Floating Firework Barge O'Fun. It was truly the highlight - especially since they did not burn down anyone's house. In short, it is a 2' x 4' floating 'barge' with 50 PVC pipes of various heights and groupings. The pipes contained fireworks fused together in 5 timed 'waterproof' fuses. All they had to do was light one. Right. So out they go in the paddleboat late at night, singing as they paddled towing the barge. At first, it worked great and was a nice show. It became comical when they paddled over their tow rope (telephone wire because that was all they had - yes, it was a true 'Jeff-O' concoction). As they tried to paddle away, the tow rope became tangled winding up the barge. The faster they paddled the closer it came. That's when the swearing started: Holy S&*T. Paddle. No! don't paddle. Why is it following us? They have big plans for next year. Mike Tutt predicts they'll have an old rusted out pontoon boat to use as a fireworks platform.

Seriously, the weather was great and all had a good time. Newcomer Jim Starke entertained at the campfire with tales of Ollie and Sven along with Chief Nokomis and Echo Valley. It was almost as if you were in Echo Valley it was so realistic. Fabere's newcomer Brian 'wow-ed' us with the best salsa this side of the border! If he can't come back for MargaritaFest - can his salsa?

Many guests had the chance to sign Jeff-O's old bathroom door since the new one is up and running. Favorite comments: I will miss peeing on the slant - Uncle Rick and 'Once is enough' - Allie.

Dee's grandson A.J. is making a documentary of his grandfather's life. Wow - where would he even start? A. J. did want to film the Firework Barge for YouTube but luckily he fell asleep before they started. We hope A.J. can make it up for MargaritaFest to see his Grandpa as the Guest of Honor in the Opening Ceremony.
